Paid Ads for Knoxville Businesses on Google, Bing and Meta

Our Knoxville paid advertising puts your business in front of people in Knoxville, TN searching or scrolling right now. We manage Google Ads, Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising) and Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram); you pay the platforms directly.

The two questions behind every ad budget

Before we build a campaign we ask two things. When does demand for your trade swell, and who is already on the page when it does? The first decides the calendar. The second decides whether an ad has room to work. Both can be read from data rather than guessed, so the next two sections do exactly that: first the months, then the results page.

Paid ads are the fast channel, but fast is not the same as constant. A budget that runs flat all year pays full price in the quiet months and runs thin in the busy ones. The aim of Knoxville paid advertising is to move money toward the weeks when your customers are looking, and away from the weeks they are not.

When Knoxville searches swell and sag

Turning the calendar into a schedule

Landscaping has the widest swing on the table. Searches run about 1.57 times an average month in March and April and about 0.49 in December and November. A landscaper who spreads spend evenly overpays in winter and starves the spring, so we would load the budget from late February and let it fall away after the leaves are gone.

Pest control follows a similar spring shape, busiest in March and May at about 1.38 and quietest in December and January at about 0.62. HVAC runs the other way: busiest in June and July at about 1.3, quietest in October and November at about 0.76, so the heat campaign should be live by May and the budget can be trimmed once the days cool.

Hotels swing hard in both directions: about 1.31 in September and March, about 0.48 in May and December. September in many years means football weekends around Neyland Stadium and the start of leaf season, so a hotel schedule should be built around those weekends, and around visitors heading for the Smokies, and not spread across the month. Movers peak in June and September at about 1.17 and sag in November and December at about 0.7, and an August student move-in around Cumberland Avenue and Fort Sanders can pull a mover campaign forward.

Plumbers are the exception. Their busiest months, February and March, reach only about 1.13, and the quietest, October and November, still sit near 0.82. That is a trade for a steady, always-on budget with a small bump when the pipes freeze or thaw, aimed at places like Halls, Fountain City and Karns, not for dramatic pulses.

Who is already on the page

What the ads column tells us to do

Ads showed on three of the four searches: web design, dentist and hotels. They were absent from the plumber search, where an AI answer and a map pack took the top. That is the useful split. Where advertisers are already bidding, a Knoxville business that stays off the page gives up that seat, whether it sits on Kingston Pike or off Pellissippi Parkway; where nobody is, the first ad may have the position to itself, and the cost question is a different one.

Hotels are the clearest case. In the Maps snapshot a typical hotel listing has 1000 reviews, so the listing alone is hard to out-shine. The snapshot showed ads and no map pack, so the paid slot is the front door on that search, and the September and March peaks above are when it is worth holding. Dentists are a mix: a map pack is there, so reviews carry weight (the typical dentist listing has 300 reviews and a strong one 650), and ads sit above it for those who want more than the pack.

Plumbers need the opposite thinking. With no ads on the search and an AI answer on top, we would put the first dollars into profile and review work, and keep paid spend for the emergency terms and the cold-snap weeks. Ad accounts you own, with your own tracking, let you check that for yourself.

Which platform fits which customer

We usually start with one or two platforms and add another once the first is doing its job.
  • Ready to buy

    Google search ads

People typing a problem or a service name. Strong for urgent and high intent needs. Details on the Google Ads page.

  • Smaller, steadier

    Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising)

A smaller audience, often less crowded. Worth testing once Google is tuned, since it can be an efficient add on.

  • Before the search

    Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram)

Reaches people before they search and reminds visitors who left. See social media advertising for how we use it.

  • Near me

Call only and Local Services Ads

For trades where a phone call is the sale. Local Services Ads availability varies by category and area, so check Google's current list first.

  • Early channel

    ChatGPT ads

An early channel, worth a small measured test and not a big commitment.

From the calendar to a live campaign

A typical path, from first call to the first adjustments.
  1. Agree on the goal

Calls, form fills, appointments or walk ins. One goal per campaign keeps the numbers readable.

  2. Choose the places

We pick the areas you want, from Bearden to Powell to Maryville, and decide what to exclude.

  3. Build the ads and the landing page

Wording, extensions and a page that matches the ad. A click that lands on the wrong page is wasted.

  4. Set up tracking and launch

Calls and forms are tracked so we know what each dollar of ad spend produced. The first weeks are for learning: trim waste, add negative keywords, adjust schedules.

  5. Report in plain words

A monthly summary of where the money went and what we plan to change.

Where your budget goes and who controls it

With paid ads there are two separate pieces of money. Ad spend is what the platform charges for each click or impression, and it goes straight from your card to Google, Microsoft or Meta. Management is our fee for building, watching and improving the campaigns. Management prices are on the pricing page.

You own the ad accounts, you can read every number, and you can pause spending at any moment. We do not promise leads, calls or any set result. If a campaign is not earning its keep, the honest move is to change it or stop it. Many owners pair ads with Organic Growth, so ads cover the near term while pages and profiles build up. Knoxville paid advertising stays simple when the account is yours, the spend goes straight to the platform and every call is tracked.

Before the first dollar of ad spend

  • A clear goal, such as booked calls or form submissions.
  • A landing page that matches what the ad promises.
  • Phone and form tracking that has been tested end to end.
  • A service area drawn with care, not simply the whole region.
  • A list of negative keywords to keep out unwanted clicks.
  • A budget schedule that follows your trade's busy months.
  • A plan for who answers calls and how fast.
  • A review date to decide what stays and what changes.

Regulated fields such as healthcare and legal have their own advertising rules. Check your Tennessee and local requirements. This is not legal advice.

Paid advertising, answered

How quickly can ads start?

Once the account, tracking and ads are approved, campaigns can often begin within a short time. Early weeks are for learning, so expect adjustments rather than a finished picture. We cannot promise how many leads any campaign will produce.

Is the ad spend included in your fee?

No. Ad spend is separate and paid straight to the platform, and our management fee covers the work of running it. See the pricing page for management fees.

Can I use ads and SEO together?

Yes, and many owners do. Ads keep things moving while the organic work builds, and what we learn from ad searches often helps decide which pages to write next.

Which platform should a small business try first?

For businesses people search for by need, Google is usually the first test. For businesses that benefit from being seen before anyone searches, Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) can fit better. We talk it through on a short call.

Do you target by neighborhood?

We can target by city, radius or specific areas on most platforms, from all of Knox County, Tennessee down to one neighborhood, and exclude places you do not serve. The more precise the area, the more the wording matters.

What if the ads are not working?

We review the numbers with you, change the part that is failing, and say so if a platform is not right for your business. You can pause or stop at any time because everything is month to month.
